The violence shown took place in Ercilla, in the Araucania Region in October 2009, when Carlos Curiñao (the man being kicked on the face by policeman Enrique Retamal Levis), went to the local police station to enquire about the arrest of some of his relatives belonging to the native American reserve Temucuicui.
Los incidentes ocurrieron en Ercilla, región de la Araucanía, en Octubre 2009, cuando Carlos Curiñao, hijo del lonko Juan Curiñao, concurrió a una comisaría a pedir antecedentes de una serie de detenciones de sus familiares en la comunidad Temucuicui, cuando tras una batahola fue agredido por los funcionarios policiales en hechos grabados por las cámaras de televisión.

mapuches are very violent too , and they fired a lot Farms , stole houses , off course not all . The situation there is very hot , i meet a old lady , she live along between the conflict are she is 75 years old and Mapuches fire his farm , shooting his house , that is the true that is happened there

Just like perverse governments unite to enslave their citizens with smooth propaganda to justify their policies againt "minority groups" and when invading Third World Countries, citizens interested in human rights, animal rights, anti-war, etc, the the world over, should support each other too.

La Justicia Militar condenó a TRES AÑOS Y UN DÍA DE LIBERTAD VIGILADA AL CARABINERO WALTER MARTÍNEZ, RESPONSABLE DEL ASESINATO DEL ESTUDIANTE MAPUCHE MATÍAS CATRILEO, en un incidente ocurrido a principios de 2008 en Vilcún. Matías, estudiante de Agronomía de la universidad de La Frontera, fue asesinado el 3 de enero de 2008 por el policia Martinez, mientras el mapuche participaba en la toma del fundo Santa Margarita, propiedad del agricultor Jaime Luchsinger.

Las Cortes Militares (marciales) en Chile tradicionalmente tienen poder absolutista y convicciones anti-derechos humanos. Son una lacra, una vergüenza nacional.

28 julio 2010: El general de la Novena Zona de Carabineros, Hero Negrón, confirmó que la Corte Marcial decidió absolver a los uniformados que fueron sometidos a proceso tras agredir a un comunero mapuche en la comuna de Ercilla. Danilo Retamal Celis, capitán Diego Barba Oliva, al sargento segundo Robinson Osses Gutiérrez y al carabinero Michael Carrasco Castillo, tras ser absueltos, fueron reintegrados a sus funciones.
