the only way to get inside the tower is walking down the tunnel

Btw im 6'4" so the beds in the traditional chinese rooms ended at my knees but there are some neat ones. And like i was sayin I would say its a requirment to have some sort of guide with a hired driver so factor that in. Most places i went to in China were off the map so it was a change to go to xian but unfortunetly those soldiers aren't in great shape and are gonna mounds of dirt in the near future. They can only preserve them not fix em so times tickin.

I stayed at the renaissance. Very nice hotel, i stayed at four or five different ones and the one in Xian was one of the best. The only reason we stay their is because my dad literally lives in the renaissance in tanjin so I bummed some nights. It was real close to the walls, but taxis are dirt cheap either way. We also hired a tour guide for like 500 rmb which i felt was needed and worth it. It was very very touristy which I try to stay away from but Xian was an exception

Xian's a cool place to go, but only for a day. Dont ever stay there for more than a day or two. I could had went there in the morning and left in the evening. Go see the soldiers, the factory, that springs place I cant remember the name during the day and have dinner. Then at night, get a taxi and go within the walls and check out the towers. What I did was I went in them and took pictures of each tower from the other one. Then leave, youll bore yourself to death if not

By the way, if you stay there for a week, youve been there 6 days too long. Its a nice place and all, but you can see EVERYTHING in a day. I flew in on saturday morning and left sunday morning and I still had time to spare. Its a very tourist driven place which I hate, and I would had never ever gone there unless it was for the soldiers. There are to many americans, do yourself a favor and with the money you saved go to somewhere like innner mongolia or something. "Be a traveller, not a tourist"

The Terracotta soldiers is without a doubt the most amazing thing Ive seen over the last 2 decades of travelling and living overseas. Other than that though, theres only a couple other places worth seeing in my opinion, If you want to see the bell and drum towers, its not worth seeing unless its night. They both light up and you can walk to the top and see the two towers with great detail and beauty. They also this palace and spring thats pretty cool. It should be a short trip to Xian.
