This clip shows what Gunydjurruwuy is capable of.

The instrument is one made by Gapanbulu Yunupingu who is the current yirdaki player for the Yothu Yindi band. The yirdaki has been used by Djalu Gurruwiwi for a Gumatj funeral at Rangi, as well as at Mr Mununggurr's funeral and Mr Dhurrkay's 2nd year Memorial Service at Ski Beach.

This yirdaki is beyond great. It is superlative in every way and has been made to a high standard of craftsmanship. The naturally conical termite-eaten bore produces a thunderous bass response and gives the 'voice' a deep complex character rich is texture and depth.
