  • I am glad people seem to be enjoying this video, and the Everything You Need to Know series. We apologize (speaking on behalf of Chess.com) for the long "Introduction Jingle" -- but hopefully the video is worth the 15 second wait ;-) -- IM Danny Rensch

  • @R3li it's called Morphy Defence, you can trade or Ba4. I think trading here is more unusual.

  • @R3li yes, but it's all "book" moves.

  • @chessthisout After moving Ba4 their next move is usually pawn B5 so basically I have no recourse but to move bishop B3. It seems like a lot of time wasting on my part while black gets to gain ground. Are you finding the same thing?

  • @chessthisout Thanks!

  • @anrchstpunk1 Openings don't guarrantee a victory! Also it's a totally different game with a human than with a machine. I recommend playing with people always! If it's not convenient for some reasons for you, you can get yourself the Java program for mobiles called Chessmaster, or even better the Chessmaster for the computer. It can suit every chess beginner. But you will always learn more from games with humans and they are hundreds of times more fun!

  • OK don't move the same piece twice but everytime I move king bishop to b5, pinning knight, black moves pwn to a6. What do you do then? Trade knight for bishop?

  • Lol, did u guys know that playing against computers on easy, the computer will go after anything u put down, it doesn't think fully, like if I put a pond down and it puts a bishop to take it out and one move my knight kills it, wow! But it does defend.

  • Omg thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much

  • The 10 rules clear up a lot of mystery for me..maybe now I can finally beat my Dad!!

  • This guy sounds like Patton Oswalt.
