Sunday Kitchen #43 Porridge

Note: I think in North America porridge is called oatmeal and rolled oats are also oatmeal.

  • have you tried to make rice porridge?

  • this show lulls me.

  • half a cup of milk, half a cup of water, cup of oats, and leave the salt out = awesome porridge

  • You are depressed?

    Ben

  • Porridge tastes nothing without lots of butter, sugar and salt.

  • I'm sorry... what exactly are "rolled oats"?

  • I like to put the rolled oats in first and toast them a bit before adding the water.

  • If it's instant oats you can use the hot water dispenser that is so prevalent in every building with a roof on it in Japan.

  • I usually let the oats soak up with milk in the microwave. Less energy consuming than boiling water for such a tiny dish :P
