Ann Arbor resident Libby Hunter, a retired music teacher, serenades the Ann Arbor City Council at its July 20, 2009, meeting during a public hearing for the proposed City Place high-rise. Hunter wrote the song "Developer's March" to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

  • Since it's actually my home being contemplated for demolition, I rather hope Libby Hunter's cause prevails.

  • That takes a lot of guts.

    Thought it was a bit disrespectful of the Mayor to try to interrupt her efforts to get the public to join in on the chorus.

    Ann Arbor is never going to be a high rise center of SE Michigan, and we most certainly don't want to end up like East Lansing or Madison (WI.) Traditional urban density does not fit the culture of this town. Please look to alternative means of creating higher density housing.
