Musicaly it is good, but you lost point because you didn't record direct into computer.

just bought one on ebay for 240€. can't wait for it to be shipped.

You don't need a computer to sequence the SH-32- it has it's own sequencer. And the filter is SICK. I won't be selling mine any time soon, even though I have some more expensive and refined gear. It's likely the best box you'll find in it's price range.

if I have the sh-32 connected to my mpc can I record all of the knob and slider movements into the sequencer and play them back?
the program change problem could be that you were running performance mode. As I remember (unfortunately, I don't own the synth any longer) it receives program change messages quite well.
About bulk dump: I suppose that you can record it to Ableton. Just activate the bulk dump mode on the synth, then hit record in Ableton, then execute the transmit prosedure on the synth. When it ends, press stop in Ableton and save the resulting midi file

there is no built-in sequencer, but an programmable arpeggiator
