Friedman plays beautifully here.
-
@lezare2012 He would have been about 23 here.
-
The best part is when Heifetz smiled at 0:22 when Erick Friedman played that run..! :)
-
Wow! Wonderful playing, so beautiful.
-
you know something very special is happening when it makes Heifetz genuinely smile.

They must be uncomfortable and the tempo is faster than any Brahms vn i ever heard. H is a phenomenon.I'd like to see some film of Galamian!

According to the book written by his student Ayke Agus, his true teaching style is not well represented in these videos.
He apparently was more detailed in technical aspects as well as musical interpretation in more of private setting.
He might have not been the best teacher in the world. But how inspiring figure he would be to play for. I for one would practice as if my life depends on it. That aspect alone might make him a great teacher.

@gulisha520 Brahms is the composer, the student violinist that is playing is Eric Friedman.
-
How old is Friedman here?
-
heehee i like how his double chin portrudes haha i wish i got his autographhh
but i think if i was forced to have a master class with him id rather suicide lol
i mean if he thinks these students are amateur players...then my playing is like poop.
LOL, check out Heifetz at 5:37, you could really tell that he held a special admiration for the Brahms concerto.

I think it's because Friedman played it nicely. I even thought Friedman did the phrasing well. It sure made me smile.
On another note, when I saw that special on Heifetz's face...you can't imagine how much warmth that brought to my heart.
