Phil Smith played this live telecast of the Haydn Trumpet Concerto in 1989. He has now played with the orchestra nearly 30 years and still makes it look as easy as he does here. Certainly one of the most dependable and inspiring performers there is, in one of the most exposed and demanding jobs of all.
