MMA H.E.A.T. brings you the complete, unedited Showtime Sports & Strikeforce conference call with UFC President Dana White, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker and Showtime Sports EVP / General Manager Stephen Espinoza. Showtime and Strikeforce have entered into a new broadcast agreement to continue producing live MMA events on Showtime. Under the new agreement, Showtime will produce and televise up to eight live events. Strikeforce athletes such as lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, women's featherweight champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos, women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and other world-class MMA fighters will continue to compete for the organization on Showtime.

The new deal kicks off during the network's Free Preview Weekend, Saturday, Jan. 7, as champion Rockhold defends the Strikeforce 185-pound title against dangerous veteran Keith Jardine at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, live on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Notable Strikeforce contenders such as Robbie Lawler, "King Mo" Lawal and Tyron Woodley are also set to compete on the televised card, which—as part of Free Preview Weekend—will be available in more than 60 million households nationwide.

  • Strikeforce should be where the up and comers fight and where fighters who get cut from the ufc should get another chance in strikeforce..A -league and a B -league

  • "Gilbert Melendez is fucking pumped to stay in Strikeforce." What a crock of shit. Gil clearly wants to be in the UFC as soon as possible and has stated the same. Who does Dana think he is fooling. I hate that arrogant motherfucker with a passion. He told another lie Dana said Carlos Condit has agreed to step aside and let Nick Diaz have a title shot. That wasn't true at all also.

  • @420nielsen Yea, where Strike Force fighter go to UFC and expose theyr Hype.

ohmmm Alistair Overeem ( cough ) Nick Diaz ( cough , cough)

  • got to love Dana ;p

  • Condit obviously did agree to step aside. he might not of been happy about it but the fights happening and he didn't quit the ufc so he has obviously came to an agreement lol

  • @420nielsen

& every year strikefore has a tournament 4 a weight class(example lightweight) & the winner of the tournament gets a 6-figure contract & joins the ufc

  • @Rampageg22 does anyone really differentiate the AFC and the NFC though? I for a minute don't believe that Dana will ever let the Strikeforce brand overtake the UFC brand as the premier MMA fighting competition. As for Pride, that was a joke to begin with, it was based more on popularity than on talent, and it showed. Strikeforce will be a feeder league, will feature strong prospects and will have great fights, but it won't be the best of the best.

  • if they really want to avoid strikeforce becoming the b-show, they should have unified champions for both brands

  • Dana"the Liar, Hypocrite, full of shit " white

  • @ryannath2003 u have 2 lie to be successful

  • @joase82 He did just fight Gegard Mousasi to a draw, Strikeforce's top light heavyweight ranked about #9 in the world.

  • @chronicgb

    lol for example...?
