Intractable problems can be solved innovatively and easily when human ingenuity and technology leadership combine. The power of such combination is demonstrated by a small village, Raila, Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, India, of 2500 people. Raila has harvested rainwater to alleviate the perennial scarcity of drinking water.

Sarokar (A TV Program Produced by Shivam Pvt. Ltd.) brings you an uplifting story of what can be achieved by collaboration of human and intellectual capitals. Jhunjhunu is a northern district of Rajasthan. Therein lies Raila. The people of Raila have set an example for the rest of the country to harvest rainwater.

Raila depends on groundwater for its daily needs. Because of the dried dug wells, fast receding water table, and water salinity, drinking water has become an acute problem.
