This is just a short video to show how relaxing the EzFly is to fly. I don't think there is anything out there that is easier.
it is equipped with the following:
2x HXT500 Servos
1500kv Hextronik "Blue Wonder" motor
The $25 Hobby King 6ch Transmitter & Receiver combo
Some cheap little Hobby King ESC
8x4 straight prop
360mah 2S Rhino battery
(all of the above purchased from Hobby King)
Krylon Fusion spray paint & Beacon Quick-Grip glue purchased at Wal-Mart... but they no longer carry the Quick-Grip at stores around here :(
The airframe can be cut yourself or purchased pre-cut from at e-foamy.com
There is also a thread at RCGroups.com if you want to build your own
Amazing how slow you can fly with it :) I just build one, but it just wont handle slowfly, dont really know why :D
Also mine came out too tailheavy, I have to add weight to the nose to keep it balanced. I wish mine would handle as well as yours, which is a really fine build :) btw, I used depron.. might be the cause :P

Thanks! This was not my first EzFly, so I was able to build it better than my first. The key to good slow flying manners is light weight, which as you know, makes it hard to get CoG far enough forward on the EzFly. The one in the video is fairly tail heavy, but because it moves so slowly, it isn't hard to keep in line. Also mine will be a little lighter than a newer EzFly because it is from before the KF airfoil was added to the kit - it is just a plain flat wing.

Some of the tricks I used to move CoG forward are to reinforce the nose with glue and tape rather than just adding dead weight, and also a strip of velcro alongside the nose for mounting the battery in different spots (lighter battery further forward). Also I use an 8" prop for more thrust at lower speeds, and I'm just using a little 2S 350mah battery in the video (but it still flies for a decent time). You might also want to minimize paint aft of the carbon spar.
