This is a short film I made about being on the road in America. I made this during my Summer 2011 semester at UW-Milwaukee for my Film 314 class, American Road Movie, with Prof. Kelly Kirshtner. I wanted my short film to show why having a driving soundtrack is an important element when it comes to American road movies. Easy Rider, along with other American road movies, heavily influenced me while I was making this short film. At its essence, Easy Rider is the story of the search for the American Dream during one of the most interesting yet tumultuous times in modern American history. As the film's tag line says, "A man went looking for America...and couldn't find it anywhere!" The film as an example of a quintessential road movie situated within its own time allows the viewer to grasp how the road film, in particular its obligatory journey through landscapes and territories, participates within broader creative and cultural efforts to define the nation. All these ideas and more are presented in my short film. With all of that being said, enjoy! Also, please feel free to leave a comment or two! :)
