Courtyard

Every now and then
we bowl along my old home.
In passing I can see then
the courtyard in the bend

Where I strolled around
and observed the earthworms
and fat Burgundy snails
that crawled across my hand.

When the rowan tree
told me with his leaves I would be
... in love... engaged... and married...
I jumped down from the branch and
ran back to my friend
who digged there in the sand.

With a shard of glass
that I found in the shrubs
We catched the sunny rays
and turned them into blue.

The grass high at our knees,
we watched the agile squirrels
The neighbors hens had chicks
and somewhere the coo coo

called behind the pines
but we stopped counting soon.
From the carpet beating bar
the world was upside down.

@Libelle1963 Ok, liebe Kerstin... nur für dich: Das Lied ist meinem alten Hof gewidmet, wo ich als Kind gespielt habe, Regenwürmer und Schnecken betrachtet habe und die Blätter des Vogelbeerbaumes nach meiner Zukunft befragt habe. Und... von der Teppichklopfstange aus gesehen stand die Welt auf dem Kopf... Ich denke, du wirst ähnliche Erinnerungen haben, oder?
