DMB: Tripping Billies Drums Cover

Tripping Billies by Dave Matthews Band

I'm a huge DMB fan. I love playing along to their music, but I especially love taking the stuff I learn from them and bringing it into other genres. It's my dream to play with them one day. (Somehow. We'll see. Maybe a miracle. :-P) Until then, I'll keep posting videos like this one.

Funny story: this song is the reason I play drums. A couple years ago, before I knew anything about DMB, I saw a video of Carter (an excerpt from Under the Table and Drumming) playing the song, and I was so impressed, I couldn't see any other option but to buy a kit and start playing. Brings a tear to my eye every time I tell it.

You have the technique which is great. All you need to do is practice to a click track more often, practice your single strokes, double strokes and paradiddles. Defiantly work on your dynamics too, You rush a little bit when coming out of fills or extending your arms to hit the cymbals. Man but great job, not too bad at all.
