Surgical treatment of an acute splitting of the initial part of the aorta or so called acute aortic dissection is one of the most urgent surgical interventions that require emergency operation in order to remove the splitting part of the aorta and to switch it with a vascular device. Emergency derives from the risk of sudden bleeding to death. In our hospital more that 100 cases with acute aortic dissection have been operated on.
