  • Whenever someone shrugs off this type of philosophy as pretentious, they assume that the speaker thinks that they are some special person and only they see the world this way. The point is that I feel this way, and many people I know share this sentiment. It ceases to become an elitist stance when you aknowledge that many people are afraid or incapable of articulating these thoughts.. BTW, I am totally stealling the VHS squalls for my experimental video project

  • Being a true artist in this modern time is really the hard fucking way. And the hard way is the best and only way because it is glorious and totally outside the managed, fake, boring, plastic and packaged mainstream. You only truly have something to say if you first realise and concede that the west and western civilization is dead.

  • @halamedvav Philosophy is dead? Science is disoriented? Hahaha, no man. Totally wrong perspective. Philosophy is not dead, simply the majority of philosophers don't think in the illusory and pretentious way of old thinkers, when they built sand castles with no connection with reality. Science? It's still rooted in experiments and math, and its majestic development is the best way to accept that culture isn't been so alive like today. But the real culture isn't for all and never it's been!

  • @EmitFlestiKY I don't think so. Contemporany west culture is not what you see in common people, the so called "pop" culture. The real contemporany culture is academic, and more and more deep that the ones in others age. But it's diffcult to understand it, 'cos science influenced every aspect of it. So you can't compare the old (strictly elitarian) culture with today common people, it's a pointless view of things. And don't forget the miserable life condition of 99% of old western people....

  • he's taking about art as if it's important.

  • @Rockulaproductions but culture/blahblah never exisred. classical music and music has always been shit patriarchal bullshit

  • @ripperstench Yes! Good old Steve :-))

  • grass is never greener

  • So i think Current 93 can be seen as ''classical'' music. It (is) in it(s) way very classical in my ears.....

p.s.:though no need for labels ofcourse

  • "i have a special plan for this world..."
