Every time I watch this scene, I find myself laughing, not because it is funny, but because I am just so glad that it wasn't the end for the Giant, and as the music swells and the Giant opens his eyes and smiles, I'm laughing and smiling too just from sheer happiness at the way this story ends, full of hope for the future. And maybe that's the way it should be, no sequel, just an open ending full of hope for the future.
