On Whirlpool model #GS6NBEXRB01 would this solenoid control the power to the auger motor in the door? The water dispenser/padle works great, the padel/flapper for the ice works, the ice machine works, the auger in the ice been works when lifted from the crusher bin. The problem is transfering the ice from the ice bin through the crusher bin to the waiting glass. Any suggestions?

How does this work for an Amana fridge? The design is different.

Hi Steve! You made the removal of the escutcheon look so easy. I have been trying for 45 minutes to remove it and now as I write this comment, my sister is attempting it. Ours is a GE Model GSS22SGMABS. Any ideas?????
@goldendragon911 - I have sent you an email to our website PartSelect . com with information about testing the fridge's water inlet valve. Please let me know what happens with the valve. If the valve checks out then it could be the auger motor or a microswitch.

@pstand38 When you removed the ice bucket did you hear the auger motor running? If so then check the wire connector closely at the auger motor as it's a known problem area. I've also emailed you this information.

@itsmeitsmeit - The Amana fridges are different and the part that you would need to replace is called the Ice Dispenser Solenoid and Door Kit. We have a video that explains how you would replace this part. I will direct message you the video’s link as YouTube won’t allow me to post it here.

Thanks for a great video. Last year I had this same problem and didn't know what it was and I called GE. A repairman came out and charged me $386. When I called back a year later to see if it was under warranty they told me only the part, which only cost $8.50. I found this video, ordered the part and fixed it myself. So now I'm one less single female that can be taken advantage of. Yaaay me!
