  • I figured out what I was doing wrong thanks to the video. I'm glad it was a Sony HDV camera. As I watched I saw what capture format he used and once I used the same it is recording in HDV. Thank you for the video!

  • @LifeInMotionVideo We're glad to hear it!

  • I got the VC102 back yesterday but did not try it out until today. The good news is it works. The bad news is I have yet to figure out how to get it to record HDV footage. I have a Sony HDR-HC1 and if I change the setting to convert HDV to DV out the the recorder then I am able to record. If I leave it as HDV out it will not let me record. I have the feeling I am doing something wrong. Will update if I get it right.

  • @MaxellProMedia Thank you for a possible solution. I have been informed by tech support that the issue is an inoperable firewire port. The port is being repaired and I am awaiting the return of the VC102.

  • @LifeInMotionVideo It seems another user experienced similar issues with Sony Vegas 8 & came up with a fix on his own, which would probably apply in your case. We've sent you an inbox message with the detailed solution because it would not fit in this response area. Please continue to keep us updated!

  • @LifeInMotionVideo Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted!

  • @LifeInMotionVideo In all fairness to Maxell I did not give tech support enough time to investigate the problem. I was excited to get the VC102 and was disappointed when it did not work. Tech support has followed through and found the problem and is repairing.

  • @MaxellProMedia Just thought I would post an update. The VC102 was returned for evaluation and it turns out the fire wire port is inoperable. I have been assured this will be fixed, tested and returned. I will post again once I have the unit back and have had a chance to test it. I am looking forward to getting it back and anxious to use it!

  • @LifeInMotionVideo glad you connected with Brian. Let us know how everything works out. We've had a lot of positive feedback on the VC102 and we think you'll be pleased!

  • @LifeInMotionVideo Just got off the phone with Brian and was told I should be contacted within 48 hours after further research has been done. Evidently this is the exception and not the norm.
