I watched as Nu metal made it uncool, in the USA to play a solo and actualy be able to play your guitar with a level of mastery. But that wasnt a fad followed anywhere else. Hence everyone else in the world, kept playing and practising, and all these players, are now emerging, and are the top guns for this generation, while the US is slim pickings. And I agree with you, in the future, we will have greta players again, but as you note, they havnt emerged from the egg yet.

@AnnaAnnaYes Really we did. Ive grown up as a guitar player, as Shred was created. So im sharing this from first hand experiance. Not only did we have a lock for almost 20 years, we basicaly created the shred school of thought, with the only exception being Yngwie. Your allowed your opinion and I respect it of cource, but name 10 non USA guitar players, other than Yngwie, the are international known, and contributed to the creation of Shred late 70s to early 90s

@by0nd Ive just been turned on to Eita and was blown away by her and her tapping skill. Im a big tapper myself, and so really relate to her playing. She also, places great focus on melody which I love. Alot of shredheads loose their musicality.

@by0nd The US has simply been left behind. It was our Karma, for turning our backs on Mastery of the guitar, for sell out metal. The only guys I can think of, from the US right now, that are worth their salt, is Bumblefoot, and to a lesser extent perhaps Chris Broderick..(.I like his neo classical tapping) and perhaps Jeff Loomis. But we really need to get back on track. And we really need more female players. But they need idols to influence them and there is almost no one to do the influencing

@by0nd Well, the U.S never really had a lock,so to speak on great technical
players, although a lot certainly have come from here. But you must understand
Great instisutions like GIT/MI in California.Berklee in Boston,MA,and music
schools in Austin,Texas, the superb Musical school in The University of Wisconsin
and The University of New Haven in Conneticut, have packed classes,so there
will be strong showings from those graduates in the future,we have'nt heard from
them yet...
