Fift time i was like plz help me i want to now how tomake molds can you make vid with explain plzz

  • @eetdekiwieter *laugh* Thanks. Well, I haven't been able to make many direct tutorial videos, mainly due to time. But, there are several videos available that are very good for helping beginners. Smooth-On has several here on YouTube and on their Website that show many ways of making molds, depending on what you would like to produce. Also, watch Freeman Manufacturing and Brickingtheyard for more videos. Good stuff.

  • They look really good i think. My 5 cents. The flocking along the edges are too regular. Espessially since the one side is a perfect straight edge. so as is seen in the video when it is placed on the muddy middle the straight green line looks odd.

Maybe dont flock the sides? Make the edges of the road sculpted to look like displaced mud or earth? that way the road defines itself and could easily be used on different themed terrain and still look to fit. (eg. a marsh, snow, desert etc theme.)

  • @yancke Interesting idea. I understand your concern about the flock not meeting the bare areas on the playing surface. They could easily be altered. Thank you for the suggestion. :)

  • Hey Mike. Massively impressed by the finished roads.

    Two questions.

    1. What sort of paint do you use to stop it cracking when the rubber flexes?

    2. Is the dye used also a Smooth-On product or a generic dye and can it also be used in resin?

  • @squidgybidge Currently I am just latex paint and it seems to give enough to not crack. The dye is formulated for urethanes and could be used in urethane plastics as well as rubbers. It is produced by smoothon.com.

  • @Terranscapes, no thank you for making such gangster terrain, I look forward to learning more by watching your videos.

  • @thesuperjohn57 I decided to omit them to keep the roads more time period generic. To be honest, I'm struggling just to paint them consistently at the moment. Painting rubber is a whole different beast. ;)

  • what would be cool if there were like footprints or wheel tracks so it looks like people have been on the road.

  • @Terranscapes will do ;)
