This is just the first in a compilation of the most violent Stooge bits ever. In this skit Moe uses a wood planer on Larry's forehead. We can see what is supposed to be flakes of skin coming from the tool as Moe uses it on Larry. Kids, don't try this at home!

  • The short that this scene came from was the very last short they ever did. I forget the title of it but the Stooges, along with Emil Sitka, as Professor Jones, visit a Venus-like planet with a clean-shaven Gene Roth as the Great Mucky-Muck, who releases the Goon from captivity and goes on a rampage to attack the Stooges and Sitka who eventually escape. I read that once the contract ended, Moe was to take Larry and Joe Besser out on tour but Joe's wife, for health reasons couldn't go.

  • Did you know the Goon was played by Dan Blocker from the TV series Bonanza?

  • To me the joke intended here is that: 1) in Larry's head there is no other thing but wood, because the particles that falls to the floor are something that seems to be sawdust, or 2) being a tool to work the wood, it cannot fall another thing but sawdust.

  • lol....for a stooge fan your a deep thinker.

  • They worked the 'Moe taking the plane to Larry's head'gag before (in 'A Snitch In Time'.) I like the addition of the shavings dropping out that they added to this one. A great touch.

  • Larry gets it in the head yet again with metal file in "Pardon my Backfire."

  • Look at all the dandruff Larry had.

  • I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if it was Joe who was getting the sawdust in his head instead of Larry?

  • I also love Larry's weird nasaly voice! fun stuff!

  • skinny rat! lol!

  • Ah, OK.

  • I didn't think too much of this short but the look on Larry's face when Moe is rubbing the sander on his head is hilarious, this was one of the best Stooge scenes in history.

  • I've always considered this to be the most violent Besser short cause of this scene alone, I'm surprised they've used this kind of abuse during this stage of their career

  • This was not the last Stooge short the boys did, the last short they've filmed (but not released) was "Flying Saucer Daffy".

  • No I didn't. Interesting. Thanks for that tidbit.
