@usaandros It is well known that there is an epidemic of Hindu men beating their wives for not paying enough of a dowry. And you DARE to say "when they claim they paid the dowry" !!!! The parents of the girl should NOT have to pay ANY dowry ! Basically, you are saying that it would be OK for the husband to beat his wife if he did not receive a dowry. If anything, the man should feel very grateful that he found a bride to marry, and pay her parents a dowry, given the shortage of women.

It is a well known fact that filing false dowry-torture and domestic violence case against husband and his family members are epidemic. The judge has taken a bold and historic step. Now, the other court must follow it. The best way to stop the false cases is to arrest and prosecute the complainant immediately when they claim they paid the dowry. Need to stop at the source. And the 2nd step to punish severely all the complaint and witnesses when it is proved that the case file was false.
