Pt.Ravishankar,AnushkaShankar & Tanmoy Bose plays a rare Jugalbandi Style in Sitar and Tabla.Normally Sitar is the lead instrument and Tabla is accompanied with it.But in rare cases, very great maestros, invert the style and pushes up the accompanying instrument-the tabla for a moment to become a lead instrument while pulling down the Sitar to become the accompanying instrument with the Tabla. The lead instrument Sitar starts accompanying with the tabla and thus making the tabla a lead instrument for a moment. It needs a great understanding inbetween the musicians. Its very tough and not all Classical Musicians can play such styles always in public.

  • Sir, thank you for this priceless video, but an instance where the tabla accompaniment becomes the lead for a moment is not rare, it happens all the time in accompaniments, this one is just longer.

  • @Dsaha10 Yes I know my friend, thank you Mr.Saha for your valued warm comment...May god bless you.
