The great Aureliano Pertile as Radames, the beautiful voice of Dusolina Giannini as Aida, the extraordinary Irene Minghini-Cattaneo as Amneris, and Carlo Sabajno conducting.

Recorded in the Opera House of La Scala, Milan 1928.

  • She is AMAZING!

  • Excellent quality of recording for 1928--nicely transferred. I have just been discovering Pertile, and am amazed that I had not heard of him before. Lovely bel canto singing from both of these artists. It's apparent that they are giving their all to bringing out the line and drama of the music, not just being in love with their own sound. I love Pertile's placement...so natural and perfectly centered. His voice has a rich color that is completely its own, not manufactured or "throaty."

  • WOW. This is stupendous singing from Pertile.

  • questo si .....è Radames

  • Pertile can be called the most reliable tenor of his generation, Robert Weede told me that Pertile and himself did Othello in a matinee and rreplaced the soloists of that evening in Barber of Seville. Weede's opinion was that both performances were awesome...JRT

  • Incredible. Thank you.

  • Excellent, thanks very much for posting.
