  • @manofacertainage agreed. I was researching this series with today's news of Tim Wakefield retiring. He really was the reason the Pirates forced a game 7. The part I forgot was the Braves were being shut out by Drabek and down 2 in the 9th. Another moment here to reflect on is Barry Bonds couldn't throw out the slow Sid Bream. This was his last moment with the Pirates (and the last time they were relevant). The next year he went to SF. With this playoff and 1986, baseball was King then.

  • @holtridge I watched every angle also....he was barely safe....that tag was late.

  • I have been a Braves fan for years but I still think Sid Bream was out according to the angles I have seen on replay. I really wish the Braves would have beaten Toronto in the series that year. They finally got the title in 95' though. My parents still vaguely remember then beating the Yankees in 57' World Series when they were the Milwaukee Braves.

  • Most exciting finish to any sporting event I've ever witnessed!

  • As a NY sports fan, I've lived to experience 17 championships and some of the most exciting moments that still make highlight reels 20+ years later. But I watched this Game 7 between the Braves and Pirates in it's entirety, and I have to say that this comeback by the Braves in the 9th and the way that it ended is right up there with the most exciting and dramatic moments I've ever seen in any sport. The whole game was a great game!
