My husband Mike recorded 20 minutes of over the shoulder, he got contractions, the actual birth and then a few minutes of the after goings-ons. I condensed the video down to about 6 minutes to enable an easier upload, so there is a contraction or two and then the last half of the video.
Please if this offends you keep it to yourself, and I thank you for watching.

  • I watched your other birth video first, what a dramatic difference in the atmosphere. I see they used the vacuum here, and that she had some moulding on her head. Probably poor positioning and bad pushing position. Imagine how much less panicky you would have felt in a hands and knees position? She probably would have come out a lot easier.

  • @NutMegs76 Yeah for sure, if only, right? Summer's birth was terrible, Shia's was AMAZING. There is such a drastic effect on their personality and disposition too! He is literally the happiest and best baby I have ever met. Not that Summer was terrible, she was probably better than normal but he is just angelic. They didn't ask if they could vacuum her or cut me. I refused to go back to this OB for my follow up. They KNEW my wishes and still screwed me over like that. Home is best for me!

  • What a pretty name, Amethyst!

    Thank you for the comment!

  • You guys are absolutely right, the nurse and my OB were in a real hurry and I cut out my paniced breathing, as you can see they put me on oxygen. I want every woman out there to educate themselves on how childbirth should be like without being fed arcaic impersonal doctor babble that causes more harm than good!! ;-)

Oh and Summer weighed 8lbs 5oz at birth!

  • My heart with in my mouth as I was waiting for the baby to cry.Fluid in the lungs?

  • Not sure if there was actual fluid but she did have meconium while in the womb still :( It was difficult getting her out I'm sure she paniced a little. There were no complications or infections from it though thankfully.

  • was this a natural birth thank you for posting this Im having my baby in april

  • Wow, you're amazing because if that nurse had of been there saying that to me while I was giving birth, I probably would've grabbed the forceps from the OB and clamped it round her neck!

She shouldve been trying to keep you calm, not panic you!

Its like in SATC when Miranda is giving birth and Carrie has to tell the nurse to shut up lol.

Im so sorry for this experience! I was the same, had everything taken out of my control (but I did have pre-eclampsia) and it really effected me afterwards.

  • So cute, and different name. Our name for my soon -to-be-grand-baby will be Amethyst! Can't wait!

  • what did she weight?

  • It's amazing how perspectives differ because I thought the nurse was doing a good job at coaching. You really need that because child labour is tiring.

  • that nurse in the background was so rude and would have made me mad if I was in that amount of pain. "common common, go go common common" It wasn't that encouraging voice either. it's like you can't hurry it up anymore than you are doing already you know!
