The 67 foot warship Exploit has to reverse to get to the re-fuelling berth at Penarth Marina. To make things interesting there is a stiff crosswind blowing onto the starboard side of Exploit as she eases in
There is no bow thruster to help out - just twin props and some well-honed skills displayed by the captain, the helmsman and the crew.
...And full marks to the sailor who makes an impressive leap onto the pontoon with warp in hand.

HMS Exploit is an Archer-class patrol and training vessel built in Woolston, Southampton by Vosper Thornycroft in 1988. She is currently is attached to Birmingham University Royal Naval Unit (URNU), that exists to provide training to undergraduate students in a wide range of naval skills and to provide opportunities for personal development. The 49 ton ship is powered by twin Rolls Royce 1590hp diesels This neatly performed docking manouever was filmed on 15/11/2011
