On Nov. 4, 2011 Occupy DC peacefully protested the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity conference. A driver committed two separate hit-and-runs. The police didn't arrest him.

After criticism, the police held a press conference on Nov. 5. Occupy DC occupied it...and set the record straight.

I agree that it appears from very credible testimonial evidence that the driver intentionally hit the mother & son protesters who spoke in this video.

This story has gone viral. My Google search found over 60,000 media stories about the alleged actions by Valentine to purportedly run his car into 3-4 protesters in DC. These articles will undoubtedly leave readers with an unfavorable to uncertain view of the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. I hope that Police Chief Cathy Lanier will take actions immediately to order detectives to interview the 4 alleged victims, Shawn Valentine, OccupyDC witnesses, & other witnesses.

anyone who says it is these peoples fault is clearly a bunch of terrorist. If you can come to a full stop and then have the cowardness to plow through PEOPLE you should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and sent to prison for being a piece of shit.

When you start intentionally obstructing traffic and blocking intersections to convey what is supposed to be a peaceful, yet, resounding message - all of the effort put forth to produce change becomes banal. You are no longer a democracy, but rather a tumultuous, uncontrollable mob. I am on board with a majority of the 99% but I do not agree with what this movement has exponentially become. The 1% cannot hear, let alone listen to a message that is being delivered with anger and violence.

We do not live in a democracy. This is a republic.  The police will restore order. A republic is not ruled by the majority so the minority's rights are protected. Democracy is mob rule and this looks like a mob to me. God save this republic from these.

Those people would not be able to exit to safety because you were "blocking the back exit doors" by "barricading the door"? Seems like you're a "jerk" too by endangering the lives of those people in that building the way you did.

I was there blocking the back exit doors when I heard him hit Georgia. I turned and saw the car speed off. Small silver coupe of some sort. Since I was barricading the door with myself and help had rushed to her side I stayed where I was. I didn't know the same jerk had hit more people until later.

There was a bunch of protesters who were clearly not "peaceful," and it appeared to me to be mostly DC Homeless Community activists. The Occupy group discusses, teaches and practices peaceful protest

This is bullshit. They were violating the rights of freedom of assembly and freedom of movement of others. Koch is OK. He supports free-enterprise. I support free-enterprise. They're trying to wrongfully fuck with my kind of people. The Occupiers are becoming oppressors, not liberators.

@TheOccupyPeople show some proof..see trying to say some 1 is "devising" something is really hard since its hard to prove intent..me on the other hand i can plainly see protesters knowingly step in front of cars or park their children there to stop some1 from leaving an event..but hey ur koch theory is about as relevant as my soros theory..except my soros theory has that handy "he already ruined miilions of middle class live by breaking the bank of england" thing going for it

@TheOccupyPeople I understand that yes there is a large majority of the Occupy Movement that are good honest protesters on the other hand there is another side for an instance if you would like i can send you the video of her recount of the story...It is not an officer who bumped into her but they also did not intentionally beat her up. But one thing that is despicable is right after she falls a man comes and says "this is what democracy looks like" as shes crying on the ground.

Protestors standing in front of a car pales in comparison to the 'Should Nots' devised by a maniacal group that sets out to further destroy 'The American Dream' aligned with the Koch Brothers. ~ Once, again, this is one person's opinion.
