@labelashavoc I have also heard of GITS and Akira are seriously being looked at. Don't walk RUN for cover that is. :-p.. Cameron was allegedly involved with GITS. There was even a screenplay in the work for GITS by a known writer, well she was allegedly known or mangling remakes. :-( It seems Hollywood has been desperate for anything lately. Really who could actually play The Major Kusanagi san, or anyone else for that matter. What about the Tachikomas/Fujikomas.

@omganotherun i agree although i prefer the original the dubs helped me with my linguistics and world culture as well as just having fun. I still like seeing both if they are well done. Hollywood though just doesn't get it. They have this we can make it better attitude, with foreign remakes they have a habit of Epic Fails. I occasionally go to see just how bad they will mangle it.

Even though this is a good translation of the song it just does'nt flow right the sounds are abit lame as well sounds like stun guns going off.

True enough, but you know Hollywood. They will make a movie about anything. Let's just hope it is done right no matter who makes it. I have never watched Dragon Ball anime, but I knew enough not to see it in on the live action screen. labelashavoc (:~>?=

thats horrible a good percentage grew up with Macross series and to have the series made about from the westernized
screwed up version will forever more insult Mr Haruhiko Mikimoto,Shoji Kawamori and anyone linked to the Macross series.
America should just leave it alone.
and let Japan do it.
they have the technology.
they don't need to have thier series turned into bland horrible remakes.

I agree with you. What do think of the new Robotech movie they want to do? I heard it has been put hold though. With todays technology, I bet it could be done well. If the right person who knows about the anime. labelashavoc (:~>?=
Japanase language loyalists aside; this is back in the day. If not for dubs like this, I'd never have gotten into anime at all. Whatever the translated music's shortcomings compared to the original, gotta respect that many of us would have missed out on so much if they hadn't created these dubs. So 80's dubs, much love.

Problem is, many of the purists, and the kids who begin watching animé today don't give a sh*t about the history of how animé really broke through in the West, or what'd made it big. I remember when I watched BGC with the original Japanese cast...It was horrible, and the music is very generic. At least in English it's generic and understandable :)
