he is so adorable I have one like him named onyx Onyx is my first small dog I always like large worker breeds until I fell in love with him. My niece Gene calls him a precious moments dog because of the big eyes he so adorable and manipulative at the same time.

Thanks for voicing your view. My little girl was older when we got her and she had been kept in a pen with her brothers so I guess she didn't bond with me as well. It just seems that I have more luck understanding (?) and bonding with the neutered male dogs, they seem more loving and want to be around me more than she does, she seems to be a loner, unless food is around. :) Thanks again.

I must disagree.. I have a short haired female and she is the sweetest little thing.. she'll follow me around and always snuggles up with my hubby or me. I think it really just depends on how they're raised and how young they are when you get them.. We got Dixie when she was about 6 or 7 weeks so she bonded really quickly with us
your pups are PRECIOUS though! :)

i have 2 long coats they are the cuddliest little babys ever, either way i think its just in the dogs nature if they want a cuddle the will let you know long or short hair. xx

I think you should choose whichever you prefer but if you want one that is more attached to you and will follow you then you should get a male and have him fixed by the time he is six months old. The "fixed" boys are very sweet and love to be around their people more than the females do, at least that is what I have found to be true.

Thank you!

WOO! Thanx for your help!
I was planning on getting a male (and "fixing" him).
I'll keep your advice in mind! ^_^
I'm going to be getting a chi of my own soon, but I'm not sure whether to get a smooth or long coat.
I hear the smooth coats like to cuddle more (which is what i really want), and the long coats are a bit more reserved.
I REALLY like the way the long coats look but still want a cuddly little blob of puppy love on my lap.
Do they really cuddle less?
-please reply-
PS YOUR PUPS ARE SOOO CUTE!!! :D

I have found the opposite to be true, the long coats are much more cuddly and want to be with you all the time, the smooth are more reserved and often like to be left alone. Also make sure you get a male and have him fixed around 5-6 months of age, they are much more cuddly than the girls!
