Grundig G3 Short Wave Radio

MAKE SURE TO CHECKOUT PART 2; Great for any emergency and keeps you informed to whats going on. I'm really loving this little radio, it will pick up stations that I never knew were around. I've also been listening to the local Ham operators, real neat stuff.

i have had the sony icf-sw7600gr for 5 years. great swradio. i would sooner a vfo knob, but it is so good on short wave, that i put up with thatoh, an i ware glasses, so display is no problem. lol

forgot to tell you this but do you find when using the sync detector...that when the signal gets low is when the sync fails.

sync is not the best with this radio.

I have one of these too! I've had a very good experience with it, and recently found a computer program called MultiPSK on the internet that decodes morse code, FAX, RTTY, etc when ran with a 1/8in patch cord from the line-out to my laptop's microphone jack

How long does the battery last if you just left it on? Does that short wave pick up stations from around the world?

Yesterday I picked up a Grundig S350 Deluxe Field Radio.

I have the G6 Buzz Aldrin Edition. I initially bought it to try and tune into the various "numbers stations" that you can pick up on SW. I haven't found anything that great, at least nothing as impressive as "The Conet Project" but I do enjoy looking around.

I come across all kinds of weird stuff from fanatical right wing religious crap, to foreign broadcasts of news and other junk - mostly at night though.

I've yet to try an external antenna, but will probably be get one soon.

I have got one, and it works very well for AM DXing. The AM sync brings in weak signals in better than regular AM mode. Shortwave does the same too.

Dude you'll find out that, unfortunately, the unit won't work when you computer is on as the computer interferes w/ the radio signal. I found that out with mine.

Its an effective radio for the price. Personally I would avoid an external antenna, except for several feet of thin speaker wire. And don't hook it up directly to the whip. Wrap several coils around the base of the whip and use induction to transfer the signal. But YMMV.

Funny thing, I have had this radio for several years and I still haven't gotten around to taking off the protective film off of the screen.
