HBofA has a mission to end chronic homelessness. HBofA is collecting stories and turning it into a Musical Folk-Life Play so the real people who are houseless and homeless have a voice. These stories challenge every stereotype of who is homeless and why. A community cast of 100 will start rehearsals in January, 2010. I know a lot of homeless people in Asheville, and I am looking forward to seeing this project happen. The homeless can use opportunities to do something worthwhile and quit smoking crack. However, I don't know of any way they can make any permanent changes in their lives unless they get jobs. And I know them well enough to know that many of them might not be happy living in tents. And I know a lot of them just don't like going to work every day, too. And that is what is going to have to change.

What a great project! The video is very professionally produced. I'm Heather McCluskey of CPI, composer and lyricist for this show. I can't wait to begin writing the music for the truly magical community of Asheville, North Carolina.
