This looks like it will be so much easier than just trying to knit or crochet in the new yarn. Thank you for this great tip and video!

Wow, this is amazing. I have never joined yarn before, but am completing a baby blanket for my cousin that is requiring 3 skeins of yarn. I am just about down to the end of the first skein and was getting nervous about joining. This seems to be an excellent method, and I will be trying it with my sport weight yarn!

I do that and then I put some clear nail polish on and that's it all done .

What does this do to the texture of the yarn? If I am working with a relatively soft yarn, will this section be harder or more noticeable when "squished" ? I love the idea of doing it and I'm working on a project now that it would be nice to use, but I don't want to "just do it" and regret any texture changes.

@askmisscris All I can say is that there is no totally invisible way to join any yarn in the middle of the row. You can try a swatch and see how it works with your yarn is my only suggestion. I use this join for ALL of my knitting and yes if you look very hard you can find the join, but it is still the best way I know how and I have used fine fingerling yarn up to chunky yarn for these joins.

How do you think this would work with silk (slippery) lace weight? Oh, how I hope you say...BEAUTIFULLY!

@LRF965 I have done it with fingerling and slippery cotton yarn, but, I think the only way to know is to try it on a scrap piece of the yarn in question. Hope it works for you

@SuperLottie99 Yes absolutely,,,, I use it even on cotton yarn. Any yarn that has 2 or more ply's so you can split the strands.
