The Promise of Hope

This presentation is entitled "The Promise of Hope" and it features the instrumental piece, "Serenade to Spring," by Irish new age group Secret Garden, as well as an original short poem, "Promise of Hope," written by myself.

This video was originally posted on September 21st, 2006. It was initially popular, but its popularity multiplied dramatically when I posted it as a response to a video by YouTube user JohnnyDurham19. It was favorited by over one thousand users, reaching people throughout many nations, and I was so proud of that; I'm sorry that it was lost when my old account, TaranWanderer, was terminated. It is here once again for everyone to enjoy.

I asked for help translating this presentation into different languages, so it could be understood by even more people. The poem was translated into Chinese, Dutch and Spanish, and I would love for it to be translated into even more languages.

What does the short poem mean? Well, I didn't really think of its meaning prior to writing it, but I think an interpretation is easy to make. A white dove embarks on a long, hard, impossible journey across the skies and any man who sees it and knows its mission believes that such a small bird will die prior to completing such task. The dove finishes said journey and proves that hope and faith are keys for success, no matter how impossible it means. "That's what is wrong with this lost old world," for we are too quick to believe that the impossible is just that-- impossible, and we don't give the belief of a brighter future a chance.

The poem and presentation were dedicated to a handful of high school friends, specifically, but also to millions of people out there who are touched by the message it tries to send.
