I'm an underground dweller. My office is in a second level basement with no cell reception. I keep up going underground for lunch in the Dallas tunnels. The entrance is about 6 blocks from my office. This video includes some bits along the way including a bizarre dead-end where they've closed the tunnel since my last visit.
The map shown throughout the video is courtesy of http://www.fountainplace.com/pages/tunnelmap.asp

If you'd like more details on the Dallas Tunnels, I'd be happy to explore and explain more.

  • Can we come down there when there is a storm..lol?!?

  • The underground walkways are generally open until about 5 or 6 pm if the buildings are open. Businesses usually lock up like they would at a mall.

  • Basements being very rare in Texas where there are Tornadoes? Oh the irony! That's like California not having buildings with additional preparation for Earthquakes. The advice to go to the middle of the house or to a room without windows and stand in a doorway sounds like advice for earthquakes more than tornadoes.

  • The map link is broken.

  • Cool thanks for the answer Dallas here too going to check it out.

  • Dallas underground:

The strangest and best-kept secret in North Texas.
