@NatTurnerJr --I agree that you are placing your life in your hands when you are out in the woods. But that the planet is being destroyed by man, I'm not so sure? YOu can't have a perfect planet with progress. The perfect kills the good.

I'm tired of these people who think that they are heroes of some sort by claiming bears to be the victim. It's like demanding that there should be a reserve for the wind and snow or something. Try living in Northwestern Wyoming for a year, one cannot walk .5 miles without being in the bear's "domain." This isn't sunny California, any animal can thrive without seeing more than a single human in the Bighorn mountains or northern Montana.

we should kill all bears within a 10 square mile radius in retialation. Better yet, we should make a preemptive strike and gas all the caves they live in

@jdorf40 Yes, humans have a right to be in the wilderness, but no animal should lose his life for doing what animals do. You have the right to sleep with lions if you wish, but don't kill the lion because he mauls and eats you. And man is supposed to be the intelligent species, huh?

@jdorf40 By sleeping in a tent, they were intruding the bear's natural habitat. If they can't live in the woods, where CAN they live? A dog attack is not the same as some clown camping in the woods being attacked by bears. Find a better analogy. If you camp where there are known to be bears, you deserve whatever happens to you.

The only victims in this incident are the bears. Why must the mother and cubs be killed because of stupid humans who have no respect for animals and their domain? The woods are their home.
