THIS IS PUBLIC DOMAIN - An alien (Klaatu) with his mighty robot (Gort) land their spacecraft on Cold War-era Earth just after the end of World War II. They bring an important message to the planet that Klaatu wishes to tell to representatives of all nations. However, communication turns out to be difficult, so, after learning something about the natives, Klaatu decides on an alternative approach.

  • You know what I love about this man (The Scientist), he completely understands that Klaatu is so far advanced that he humbles and nearly prostrates himself before such an intelligence. Everyone else tries to maintain their dominance over him. The smartest man in the film understands how little he actually knows...everyone else however does not.

This movie is a masterpiece. In my opinion, they eventually had to destroy the Earth. People like Bernhardt are too few and too far between.

  • @ftjax "All" the time?

I like the coziness... I like all the interior design of the time(and I'm not even gay). My great grandparents house was like that. Sometime in the late 60s, early 70s, somebody said, "Let's make houses for people who don't have souls!"

  • @ColTaylorDyath har! har!

  • Rocket Age (or Cold War) Sci-Fi at its best. Great flick -- great cast. There are some who think that the arrival an "alien emissary" who desires to bring peace to this world is long over-due. They're right (by 2,000 years). Merry CHRISTmas 2011!

  • the boyfriend is a complete twerp

  • Warning Warning Warning....this is not in the public domain

  • No tracks?

    Hahaha

  • @ColTaylorDyath

Dude, you have seen too many B-movies-- they're starting to run together...lol.

I recommend a crash-course of Jane Austen to clear the palate.

  • "Something dramatic but not destructive...would 'The Day After Tomorrow' be alright"

Okay! If you think unleashing tidal waves and plunging the Earth into an ice age is 'dramatic but not destructive'....

  • ontbreekt een klein stuk uit de film waneer ei op het bord schrijft.of misschien heb ik het mis
