i know you use pitch for holding peaces. is their something other than that we can use? I saw a guy use glue from glue gun,dont know if that works.what about candles to hold peaces?

@trekranger Many engravers use hot glue indeed, it works very well and I use it sometimes too. The other method is to use GRS thermoloc 'stuff'. You heat it up to make it soft and make fixture for the piece you need. As it cools down, it hardens and holds the piece very well. I use it for many weird shaped pieces I need to engrave - knives, spoons, watches...

@vilts GRS thermoloc ? on the hot glue, how do you release it when your done, just heat it up or what ?thanks again

@trekranger For thermoloc check grstools{.com}. To release from hot glue you can either put it in the deep freeze fridge for a while, so the detail will pop out easily. The second way is to use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), which weakens the glue.
