East African companies could soon have access to a larger pool of capital if proposed regulations allowing for issuance of regional corporate bonds are accepted by all East African Community member states. The East African Securities Regulatory Authorities, the umbrella body for regional capital markets regulators, is proposing laws that will in future allow companies to float bonds across all countries in the East Africa Community of nations.
