1958 Mercury Mark 25 on 1960 16 ft. Starcraft

I recently purchased a 1960 16 ft. Starcraft v-bottom. It came with this 1958 Mercury Mark 25. Here I have it out on the Salamonie Reservoir near Huntington, IN. Runs like a champ. I've been side by side with my friend's boat and he clocked me running 20 mph. Not bad for a 51 year old motor!

@wildrunner68 I didn't know they had a Film Festival. I will certainly look into it! I'm with you on the car thing. This Merc is all original. Still has the lead seal on the powerhead. I've got the brochure and envelope that came with it when it was new!! I swapped this one out with a 1975 Evinrude and it just does not have the character that these old Mercs have. I hope to get a water pump in it this summer and have it back on the water.

@lakeguy8888 I am not interested in selling thanks. This footage is nearly a year and a half old. The motor is currently in need a of a new water pump. The lower unit also needs new seals, as I have to refill the gear lube every time I take it out. It's 100% all original and still runs like a dream!

I finally found a fully reconditioned 57 mk 25 but I love the color of this one best. I hope mine runs this well. I'll know in two weeks

that sound is familiar,i have that engine also. everyone stares at me at the lake sliding on the water with this old engine
