Beltronics STi-R, Escort Passport 9500ci, Valentine One (V1) versus 34.7 Ka Opposite Side

Traveling on portions of I-87 Northway around Saratoga and Glens Falls you will often encounter the wrath of Instant-on and Constant-On 34.7 Ka Radar.

In this video, we encounter an approaching trooper operating 34.7 Ka radar in constant-on mode traveling in the opposite southbound direction. Notice the extreme levels of sensitivity achieved by the Beltronics STi-R and Escort Passport 9500ci as compared to the Valentine One which for many years has been a benchmark radar detector.

You have any segments turned off on the STi-R? Having the same reciever as the CI, if they are both on Ka SW its weird to think there is such a difference in detection range?

couple of things: 1) the STi-R is the only one to offer segmentation. I am using 2-5-8 ON and others OFF. 2) The 9500ci, I suspect, may be handicapped by its different and less favorable mounting position on my front-end.

Oh ok, my mistake. Sti-R is more a preffered detector in my view anyways.

you should buy from the beltronics and extra antenna and place it in the rear facia of your car... then you have no worrys about needing the v-1 for rear detection....

How is it higher? he has the Sti-r Mounted in his Grill? and the V-1 high up in his windshield???

Sti-R better sight as mounting significantly higher than the V1
