Trafalgar 200 ..
Our..and the Queens; review of the Fleet at Portsmouth [ The Solent ] on 28 June 2005.. There were around 167 ships anchored in the Solent, which included about 57 British Warships..

In the October of 2004 we pre-booked a ride for the 28 June 2005 on an I-O W ferry, We had an amazing day out..

HM Queen was on board HMS Endurance and we actually followed her out of Portsmouth Harbour into the Solent... We had to skirt the fleet on the outward voyage, but, came straight through the centre on the return..

The video format used was the old Hi-8 taken on an old Sony which I had to hold above my head for about an hour to clear the crowd in front of me...

My video quality does not do the day the justice it deserves..

  • When one prat has to post a comment on here to tell us that Spain won a football match.... I think it's time to remove ALL non relevant comments... Which I have now done.. The video features one day, in the solent UK... If you cant make a relevant comment .. good or bad about this day in June..2005.Then, dont bother posting them.. as I shall remove them.... And ...congratulations to Spain on winning their football match...We look forward to joining the celebrations in 200 years time. GL

  • Great video, one of those ones that almost brings a tear to one's patriotic eyes. May the British government support wholly the increased manufacture of ships in Great Britain and never let Britannia slip beneath the waves.

  • Britain will always be the greatest navy in the world. Nelson was the king of commanders. America will always be second best.

  • @Phil1796 Royal Navy (british)

  • Well we won't need to do this anymore after the government have finished with their bullshit defence review. We won't have a fleet to review! i hate how the government make decisions on this that they don't have a clue about! then get it completely wrong and the top brass don't stand up for their service!

  • is this the world navy or the british a few american and others

  • I read somewhere that they managed to get live mapping and identification of shipping in the channel, during this operation. That sort of knowledge was a maritime first

  • it is too late

  • They say that they had to collect their own bricks...

  • Nah thats the Royal New Zealand Navy ;)
