how do you get your high e up to f# without having it snap?

if you are concerned about string breakage, you can turn all strings down one whole step, adjust up or down accordingly for each individual string and then capo on the 2nd fret. i just turn the pegs REALLY slowly

I read this, got to the part where the F# comes in and realized I didn't tune it, then I broke my string. I was really getting in to it to at 3 AM, the capo idea is good.
