not likely. not saying it's a "living plesiosaur."
However, I would like to point out that whales are mammals which cant survive very long in freshwater. Unless the "cryptid" is not a plesiosaur but perhaps an undiscovered freshwater whale or something else completely.
also it was right there why not shoot it or something? like a trap maybe?
