Are you a kid like me? No. You should have no opinion on what another group of people is doing.

Children should get out more and see the real world, Travel, face to face communication, meeting new people experiencing new cultures. Yes, and I would as a web manager but a well travelled one!!

There was always something or someone to blame. Technology and the Internet just happens to be far more widespread and relevant than any previous scapegoats (D&D, Elvis, jazz) could ever be.

Kids are just as lazy now as they were then, technology is just something to blame

A more straightforward way of opening the questions about digital media and learning using multi-channel video in one box. Okay, calm down, there are a bunch of sober adults talking about this stuff. Oh wait, this video 4 years old!

I just purchased an iPad for my family and the adoption to its features are immense. My 3 year old builds puzzles, reads books, plays games. It is a learning tool. The MacArthur Foundation is wise to be exploring this topic. The larger question is what are the longtern effects of this type of digital interaction for children as they will read their books on these devices, watch tv on these devices, apply for college on these devices. How will their behavior be altered?

what if there's a sudden event were the electricity is out? You won't be able to use all those advance technologies, now (or for Iphones/MP3 players, a limited time).

    I'm just saying.

In 10 years kids won't be using back packs to carry books, they will have ipods. What is wrong with efficiency? Is it better to wash dishes by hand than use a dishwasher? Seems to me the complainers about technology here are those who refuse to change with the wind . . we will let you remain ignorant in your own personal struggle, while the rest of us soar with the eagles in peace and equality.
