Walk around of piggy bank. This light-hearted take on world-renowned contemporary artist Damien Hirst's works involving cows is a ceramic piggy-bank divided into four cross-sections and encased in vitrines of 1/4 inch glass and aluminum. This "interpretation" allows the viewer to see the money inside the piggy-bank with no obvious method of getting the coins out. The exterior of the pig has been decoupaged with art school and art career "how to" book advertisements then painted an appropriate piggy pink color as a comment on the potential investment value of an art school education. One vitrine has a working coin slot for adding money but again, no apparent opening for getting to the money. The final version has four vitrines - containing the whole pig. UPDATE: Anyone interested in this piece can contact the auction-winning owner at dwh150@psu.edu . 50 artists were selected to decorate/modify these piggy banks for auction online and on live television to benefit the non-profit public access tv station in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
