My 2nd model of the truck. This one is far more accurate than my last one. I started with New Ray's model of a 1948 Peterbilt 380. Modifications to the truck included removing the running boards, grinding off the 3 center clearance lights (which are cast onto the cab), removing the 2 horns, filling in the holes, and putting 1 horn in the center, extending the stack, and adding the rail bumper, turn signals, license plates (pic's of the actual ones on the truck in the movie), and swamp cooler.
Once again the grill isn't correct, but unlike the other one i made i have ideas on how to give it the correct louvered grill.
Again the trailer is scratchbuilt from balsa, posterboard, and thin plastic. Only the wheels and bogie was used from the other trailer.

  • What color paints did you use? What company makes them? Are they spray paints or bottled paints?

  • @bluecoatscheesypoofs For the base color i used Van Sickle camo brown spray paint. The weathering is artist acrylics and rust powder.

  • well if you can write it down can you do step by step with pictures on how to fold the trailer put the sides together and bak and front with diagrams beside the writing because i have the new rays truck the same you have please reply back

  • @23michaelmyers I should be able to. Idk how long it'll take though.

  • please make a tutorial because this is just complicated for me to figure out p.s where did you get the idea to make both trucks and how did you come up with putting the trailer together please reply back

  • @23michaelmyers It'd be quite a while before i could make one, because i'd have to actually make a 2nd trailer (unless i just write what i did). I made this truck as a response to the other since it's nowhere near what the real one looks like (though the trailer represents the one with the last surviving truck). Coming up with the trailers took a lot of research, and trial and error (though i had a little experience from the first trailer i did for my Convoy truck, which i built the same way).
