You're a genius! You simply thought of using the wiimote to build your own theremin-like musical human interface. That's just a fantastic idea.
You are totally true saying a keyboard will never allow such control.
It's what is missing to nowadays' digital music: continuity. We had this with earlier synths which were voltage driven. We lost a lot of subtiliy wanting to put everything in rows of bytes.
Let my hands loudly applause you!
5 stars, BRAVO!

Okay ... I found the answer on your "How it Works" video ... (I saw that one first and didn't take all the info in first time through!)
So, the left hand DOES control the volume by moving vertically. Amazing!! Now I'm curious ... wondering how playing this would compare to playing a real theremin.

Well in this incarnation isn't very accurate to a real theremin since the control points are both on the tip of the index fingers and the volume is simply a linear mapping of the vertical position (real Theremins exhibit a shelf about 8 inches above the loop where volume drops off significantly). I'm working hard on improving it... stay tuned!

Thanks! I've really enjoyed watching these videos of you playing your wii theremin invention. It's fantastic! However, I have a question: I'm still not clear what your left hand is doing. I can see the right hand changes pitch, (like a real theremin), but is your left hand modulating volume? It's hard to tell.
